One of the efforts on strengthening the legal enforcement process on illegal logging is to optimally increase the public participatory level. Public participation in forestry issues is acknowledge on the law No. 41/1999 on Forestry, especially on article 68. Its is expected that by raising the public participation in forestry sector and legal enforcement process as well as illegal logging eradication process in Indonesia will be strengthened.

This book is a research regarding legal framework in forestry sector conductude by ICW. ICW tries to find weaknesses in within the law no. 19/2004 regarding forestry as well as seeking for alternate legal provision which could be maximized to process illegal loggers.

As important phenomenon which need to be carefully looked upon forestry cases especially illegal logging is that illegal loggers are often getting away because they only been processed using just forestry law. As legal alternative, this research find that the legal base on processing the illegal loggers is not limited to the law on forestry but could also use other stipulation such as the anticorruption law and the law on money laundering.

The vast number of illegal logging cases set free by court shows that the efforts of eradication illegal logging done by government is not evenly supported by he judicative side. If the government was deemed active in the efforts, the court is also deemed very active in setting free the illegal loggers.
